Practical questions about our RIB rentals

Where is Island Boat Charters located? How long does it take to get there?

Our office and boats are in Anse Marcel Marina, the nicest marina on the French side of the island. Consult our contact page to check out the map of Anse Marcel.

In order to get there, it will only take you a short drive from anywhere on island:

  • 15mn from Grand Case or Orient beach
  • 20mn from Marigot or Oyster Pond
  • 25mn from Cole Bay or Philipsburg
  • 30mn from Simpson Bay
  • 35mn from Terres Basses

 

Is it compulsory to have a Boat Licence / Permit to rent a RIB?

It will be required for your group to have a minimum of one person owning a boat permit. Please note that this permit will have to comply with the power of the boat engines (70HP, 90HP or 200HP).

Please call us before booking if you do not have a permit. We can provide you with a list of independent skippers that you can easily contract directly (Island Boat Charters is not legally entitled to provide you with skipper services).

What are the times for the RIB rentals?

Full day rental: Your day starts at 09.00 and finishes at 17.00 (5PM).
Half day rental: Your rental starts at 13.00 (1PM) and finishes at 17.00 (5PM).

This allows us to prepare your RIB for you and ensure all is ready for your day of fun on the water.

We can change these hours by special arrangement, but you will need to advise us in good time so we do not disappoint you. If you have a special reason to stay out longer, please advise us as we are only human!

Which boat should I choose?

Our boats have different capacities in terms of passagers and engines. In order to choose for your project, check our choice of boat rentals to compare the engine power, number of passengers and possible destinations.

What is included in the cost? Are there extra expenses?

Price includes:

  • Saint Martin 4% TGCA (local tax)
  • Natural reserve fee
  • Boat equipment (bimini, swimming ladder, stereo system etc)

Price excludes:

  • Fuel refill at the end of the day
  • Custom fees (to arrange with us if you are heading to Anguilla islands. Only PREMIUM boat rentals are allowed outside Saint Martin / Sint Maarten waters).
What do I need to do before checking out on the day of rental?

We ask you to please return the boat with full tank. There is a fuel station right besides our base.

Please note that there will be an extra charge if you have not refilled the fuel tank. In that case, you will need to pay an extra $50, plus the actual fuel cost.
